The Sequence Quartet will perform as guest artists at the 2023 International Euphonium Tuba Festival. This will be the festival's 20th Anniversary, and will take place this week from June 18-24. The Sequence Quartet will perform on Thursday June 22 in the festival's evening concert. The quartet's program will feature a performance of the quartet version of "Tango Divertido" as well as other arrangements.
Deep River will be performed tonight in Carnegie Hall in New York City by the Brooklyn Wind Symphony. The Brooklyn Wind Symphony will be one of three groups performing at Carnegie Hall including also the Riverwatch Middle School Symphonic Band and the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (the latter of which I am an alum!). Deep River will be conducted by Kimberly Roof, and the concert starts at 7pm EST.
"Deep River" will be performed tomorrow to close the 2022/2023 concert season of the esteemed Northshore Concert Band. The Northshore Concert Band, founded in 1956, has been a premier group based in the Chicago metropolitan area. NCB is under the direction of Dr. Mallory Thompson. The group's performance is tomorrow June 4 at 3pm CST.
Buzz Buzz is a new work for trumpet, flute, and piano. The work will have its world premiere this week at the 2023 International Trumpet Guild Conference. The Elucidate Duo commissioned the work and will give the first ever performance at the conference, this year in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The work was accepted as one of the winners for the International Trumpet Guild's New Works Call for Scores. Catch the world premiere on Friday June 2nd! Buzz Buzz places the featured trumpet and flute instrumentalists as dueling soloists, in this fast-paced dash. The oft-chromatic nature of the work, complete with plenty of trills, imagines the two soloists as insects in a race to the finish. Don't miss your chance to hear four works performed at the 2023 International Tuba Euphonium Conference! The following groups will be performing these works at this week's event, three of which will be having their debut(*) for any ITEA event.
